"4 Motavians flee, fly and fall right on my temple hall..."
~Raja I had so much fun making this   wanted me to make a pic of Raja from Phantasy Star 4 because he's awsome  I mean c'mon, he rocks! At first he was like: What the freak did you do to my temple?!?! then after hearing their story he's all: I'll overlook the whole temple crushing thing if you let me come with you. I find that the characters that the creators CARE about (i.e. they role-play as, create history for, imagine being in their place, imagine THEM being in one's OWN place, etc.) are the ones that are the most interesting.
Ever see the scans out of the old PS Compendium? PAGES and PAGES of character studies!! In other words, someone took the time to fully develop these characters because they ADORED them! Too many game designers make games JUST TO MAKE THE GAMES... lame. LAME I say!
